World Aids Day Arts Extravaganza call for ArtThe American Medical Student Association Presents: When: Friday, November 30th, 2007 Where: University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, 231 Albert Sabin Way, Cincinnati, OH 45267 Why: The American Medical Student Association's University of Cincinnati Chapter will be hosting a multimedia exhibition featuring works by fellow students, professionals, and local artists. The goal is educate the public about AIDS through the creative endeavors of the Cincinnati community. We believe that art can be a powerful means of education, and we are looking for artists who are willing to contribute their works to a community exhibit. What: We will accept paintings, videos, photography, poetry, prose, sculpture, dance, and any other creative expression. Any works concerning the theme of AIDS are especially encouraged, but we are open to all types of works and styles. Art submissions are due by Wednesday, November 14th at 5pm. All works can be sold at the exhibition should the artist so choose. All submitted works will be presented by their creators (if available) from 3-7 on Friday, November 30th, 2007 at the UC College of Medicine's Kresge Auditorium. Artists will have to provide their own means of display, such as tables or easels or any other means that does not involve nailing works to walls. As part of a fundraiser, all works of the exhibit will be reproduced in a print format to raise money for local efforts to combat HIV/AIDS (with the artist's permission).
