The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts will hold auditions for one of the most powerful musicals ever to grace the stage, Man of La Mancha at the following dates and times:
Saturday, February 2nd 1:00 – 4:00 pm
Monday, February 4th 7:00 - 10:00 pm
All auditions will be held at the Covedale, 4990 Glenway Avenue in West Price Hill.
The show requires a large cast consisting of all types and ages: singers, actors/actresses, dancers. Auditionees should
be prepared to sing a song from the musical theatre repertoire (bring sheet music for the accompanist) and
to read from the script and possibly be tested for dance ability (dress appropriately) . Headshots and resumes are appreciated but not
required. Performers must be a minimum of 17 years of age to
audition. Show directed by Covedale Artistic Director Tim Perrino,
Musical Director, Steve Goers.
Please Note: All Roles in Man of La Mancha are open, except the role of Aldonza which has already been cast.
Performance dates: March 27 – April 13, 2008. All roles are paid positions.
The Show: A dying old man conceives a strange, comic and most romantic quest – “to become a knight errant and sally forth into the world to right all wrongs!” Having dubbed himself the noble name Don Quixote de La Mancha, he needs only his mighty (rusty) sword, his trusty (skeptical) vassal and his one true love (a bitter, abused prostitute named Aldonza) to perform his soon to be legendary deeds. The songs - It's All the Same, Dulcinea, I'm Only Thinking of Him, Little Bird, I Really Like Him and The Impossible Dream, remain in your thoughts and in your soul well after you see the show.
