Individual Giving Manager at The Cincinnati Art Museum
The Cincinnati Art Museum has an opening for a full-time individual giving manager in the Development Division.
Responsibilities: Working under the direction of the director of development, the individual giving manager plans and manages the Art Museum’s development efforts regarding individual donors by effectively identifying prospects, planning solicitation, implementing stewardship (including special events for Founders), and assessing program achievements. The individual giving manager is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of the Founders Program (annual gifts of $1,000 and above). In addition, the individual giving manager will assist the director of development with the major gifts and planned giving program.
Requirements: A four-year college degree minimum and three years experience and/or training in the field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. Legal expertise is highly desirable. Skills necessary include the following:

- A proven ability to work successfully with others to achieve institutional objectives.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as a good working knowledge of database, word processing, and other relevant computer programs.
- Ability to read and interpret legal documents pertaining to the field of planned giving is desired, as well as an ability to assist in writing legal documents such as gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, etc.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions regarding tax and legal ramifications of charitable gifts from museum staff, donors, members of the Art Museum, the general public and members of the legal and financial communities.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute high-level internal special events for major donors.
- Ability to effectively respond to donor issues with sensitivity to both the donor’s wishes and the needs of the Art Museum.
- Ability to create and manage program budgets.
