AUDITIONS JULY 24, 2007 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM , FOUNTAIN SQUARE, DOWNTOWN CINCINNATI Bring your enthusiasm and sense of fun, NO TUTUS REQUIRED! ABOUT CINCINNAT BALLET WEBISODES (Cincinnati , OH) – July 16, 2007 – Cincinnati Ballet's Marketing Director Barbara Hauser announces an open casting call for the company's 2007-08 Webisodes, from 11:30 – 1:30 pm July 24, on Fountain Square in Downtown Cincinnati. Cincinnati Ballet Webisodes, which premiered last season to popular acclaim, aim to propel fun-loving young professionals to the web stratosphere in starring roles with professional dancers. Shot by videographer James Czar, a premiere showing of the entertaining shorts has become a popular pre-production attraction at McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon in downtown Cincinnati, drawing a mix of cast members and the general public, who cast a vote according to the situation set up by the webisode's storyline, and get discounted tickets. The entertaining and lighthearted topics have ranged widely, from "The Decision," in which Artistic Director Victoria Morgan ponders with her friends whether Giselle really should seek revenge on her cheating lover, to "Extreme Man Makeover" (in which chip-eating, beer drinking men undergo a transformation in their attitudes about ballet) and "Smackdown: Ballet Style," in which four Cincinnati Ballet dancers compete in a "dance off" in the basement of the ballet center, casually showing off their artistry. Morgan has said "People think that we're not earthy and that we can't get down and be lively. The Webisodes give off the tone that we're hip and cool and interesting, and they bring us to a larger number of people . . . we are serious about being part of the young community today."
